Ever wonder what it’s like to use some of the pro lawnmowers?  Well, anywhere there is a large lawn that is what usually get’s used so that it can be done faster and better.  These machines take some practice to get good at.

They are powerful and cost a lot more than the homeowner mower that you may have at home but this is what is needed to keep the big lawns looking good.  As you’ll see in this video, they are a lot harder to use than most of us think they would be at first.

The project that I am working on is trying to BAN watering your lawn in the middle of the day because it wastes water.

I live in a ground floor flat (appartment). I have a tiny back garden, with a very small lawn. I moved in about 4 years ago, when the flat was newly built, however there have been various buildings in this area for at least 200 years. When I moved in the lawn looked lovely, but over the first winter most of the grass died off. Since then, I have reseeded the worst patches, reseeded the whole lawn and laid new turf. I’ve also spent lots of time poking holes inthe lawn with a garden fork and filling these with sand to improve drainage, and have dug compost into the soil. Nothing seems to work, each time, all the grass has died. the plants growing in the garden (in the same soil) are doing well. Grass grows between the paving slabs next to the lawn. The neighbor’s lawns look fine. Lots of moss and clover grows on the lawn and there are loads of worms.
Any ideas? or shall I give up and put paving down?
I water it regularly during dry weather. Hosepipes are currently banned in this area but it’s so small it’s easy to do with a watering can.

My lawn was seeded late Spring last year. It appears that the seed may have had a crabgrass mix. I reseeded areas of my lawn in the early Fall and applied a winterizer fertilizer in late Fall.
